Sundas Hassan

Sundas Abbasi is a contemporary artist and textile designer based in Australia. Working across painting and surface design, her practice explores colour, memory, texture and emotional atmosphere through layered compositions and expressive forms.

Originally trained in textile design, Abbasi’s background continues to inform her sensitivity to pattern, materiality and rhythm. Her work moves between abstraction and figuration, often drawing from personal memory, nature and lived experience.

Having developed her own textile collection alongside her painting practice, Abbasi approaches both canvas and fabric as spaces for storytelling, intuition and visual connection. Her works reflect a dialogue between heritage and contemporary life, shaped by experiences across cultures and place.
