Jibran Shahid
Jibran Shahid is a visual artist working across sculpture, painting and drawing. His practice explores memory, mythology and transformation through hybrid forms that merge the body and symbolic narrative. Drawing from South Asian visual traditions, miniature painting and historical craft practices, Shahid creates works that feel suspended between the ancient and the contemporary.
Blending sculptural form with intricately painted surfaces, his works investigate the relationship between material, storytelling and inherited visual language. Animals, gestures and mythological references recur throughout his practice, creating layered compositions that feel instinctive and psychologically charged.
There is a tension within Shahid’s work, between fragility and power, stillness and movement, ornament and monumentality. His pieces unfold slowly, revealing themselves through detail, symbolism and surface.
Based in Pakistan, Shahid has exhibited nationally and internationally across galleries, biennials and institutional platforms.
